Learning Journey to Little India During Deepavali
Pupils have the opportunity to immerse themselves in Indian tradition, understanding the significance of celebrating Deepavali. Pupils take part in activities such as applying henna to hands and buying Indian sweets. During this learning journey, pupils get an opportunity to eat with their friends a scrumptious Indian Vegetarian Food served on banana leaf understanding the culture and reasons behind it. The pupils learning journey ended with the school Character and Citizenship value teaching as our pupils made little donations at the Project Give SINDA Booth where funds are raised for the low-income families to help celebrate Deepavali. This creates awareness amongst our pupils as well as giving them an opportunity to play a part in the community.
